Diabetes Doubles Risk of Heart Attack, Stroke
Health in the News - Diabetes

A new study shows that Diabetes doubles the risk of developing serious blood vessel diseases and life-threatening events such as strokes and heart attacks.  This is no surprise but it is good to see it brought out in print and through studies.

One caveat: The leaders in this study received funding from the pharmaceutical industry.  The most common way to control diabetes is through the use of pharmaceutical medications.

The study does not touch on the fact that a plant based diet and regular exercise can help prevent disease and hence dependence on those medications.  The inter-connectedness of these various diseases has been shown once again!
