| Why Does Diabetes Raise Cancer Risk? |

A combined panel from the American Diabetes Association and the American Cancer Society make the following observation: People with diabetes are at increased risk of certain cancers. They then ask the important question: why? Unfortunately their conclusion: We aren't sure! Sure or not about the "why" there is one thing they are sure of (it is good to have absolutes in this world) which is this: Lifestyle changes that prevent or reverse diabetes will certainly cut cancer risk. Their advice: "Eat a healthy, varied, predominantly plant-based diet, be physically active every day, and maintain a healthy body weight." We would suggest striking the word 'Predominantly' in the interest of optimal health. Click to see WebMD article "Why Does Diabetes Raise Cancer Risk?"
