Dr. Wirtz grew up in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from college in 2004 from Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX with degrees in Nursing and Psychology with Biology minor. She was an RN on a pediatric hospital floor for 3 years. At the time she was going to graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner when she decided to become a more natural and holistic health care provider. Dr. Wirtz was so tired of seeing children put on medications that were not necessary and teenagers on PCA pain pumps of morphine for headaches. She decided to become a Chiropractor so she could help people heal from the inside out and do away with medications.
Dr. Wirtz started at Parker College of Chiropractic in September 2007 in Dallas, TX. In one of her last trimesters of school, she was chosen for an internship with the Olympic Team in Colombia, South America. She was able to treat some of Colombia’s top Olympic athletes like Tennis player Alejandro Falla, Boxer Jeysson Monroy Varela, and Paulo Villar who competed in track at the 2012 London Olympic Games amongst many others. She was excited to be changing the lives of many athletes and helping them perform at their peak level as well as providing them with the ultimate preventative health care. She graduated with her Doctorate in Chiropractic in August of 2010 and moved to Colombia, South America to practice Chiropractic and to be with her husband, Fernando, who is an Olympic Mountain Biker from Colombia.
Dr. Wirtz became a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician in 2015 and had the honor of working with athletes at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
Dr. Wirtz and her husband live in South Austin with their 1-year old son and dog. She joined Airrosti in early 2016 and is looking forward to helping her patients get rid of pain and gain their quality of life back.
